Congratulations to Sarah Anderson, who has won the second annual Tom Wolfe Prize for Fiction, from Air Mail magazine, for her debut novel, FALLOW!
Selected by a judging committee comprised of writers Sloane Crosley and Emily Ratajkowski, critic Christian Lorentzen, and actress Emma Roberts and her Belletrist-book-club partner, Karah Preiss; and last year’s award winners, Vincenzo Latronico (Perfection) and Meghan Daum (The Catastrophe Hour), Anderson’s debut was selected for the Wolfe prize from a shortlist of six works of fiction that “carry the journalist’s singular spirit.” The committee praised Anderson and FALLOW with the following remarks:
“Captures the here and now with wit, style, and originality… An all-too-plausible satirical debut novel.”

The Wolfe Prizes, which also include a prize for reportage, award an honorarium to the winning writers furnished by Montblanc (maker of Wolfe’s preferred pen) and were celebrated at a formal dinner which Air Mail hosted in New York City in late October.
